There were many looks that I liked from The Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York City last week. However this design from Carolina Herrera's Spring/Summer 2010 collection jumped out at me.

The unusual mix of quilted satin (blanket like) fabric combined with the wood detailing made the dress eye catching. I couldn't help but think of a Forest on a cold airy night...something out of a fairy tale. While the sharp angles and wood detailing don't evoke the image of moonlight fairytales, through a softer interpretation a romanticized view of this look can be achieved.
Below is my more romantic interpretation of the look. The outfit on the left comes in at about $300, and the splurge outfit on the left is a little under $2500.
